Innovative and advanced technologies currently create new possibilities for a better life. In exploring the impact and potential of these technologies, it is indispensable not only to develop an individual environment with these technologies but also to build new theories representing what and how the technologies can enhance such goal. In addition, it is also important to accumulate lessons learned from practical uses of those technologies following the theories. The interaction between such theoretical and practical aspects of integrating the innovative and advanced technologies would construct new fundamentals of engineering field, which would be one direction ISMEE should pursue.
Focusing on "Advanced Materials for Strengthening Research in Electrical and Computer Engineering", the second ISMEE will take place in Bandung, Indonesia, on 17 July 2019. The symposium is hosted by the Department of Electrical Engineering Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and co-organized by Institute of Microengineering and Nanoelectronics (IMEN), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), Japan, and IEEE UPI Student Branch. It can be used as a scientific forum for accommodating discussion among researchers in the field of materials and electrical engineering, and engineering education.
